Holiday Greetings (& some very exciting news! ) |
Dear Friends of Zenbu Tours & Zenbu Home, Thank you all for your patience and enquiries regarding Zenbu Tours in 2022 and beyond. While we spot a faint glow at the end of the Japan travel tunnel, and I’ve been deep in development of 3 wonderful new Japan itineraries, it’s sadly become necessary to place them on hold until at least Mid Jan 2023 – due to current Japanese border restrictions. So, please pop a little * in your diary and we’ll share more details soon. However, in the interim DRUMROLL PLEASE…. I’m very, VERY excited to finally announce an idea I’ve been dreaming about for several years and one that’s evolved into a state of reality – thanks to the time gifted by Covid. Who’d have thunk it?! Kicking off in April 2022 will be the first of our Zenbu Australian Tastemaker Tours Featuring the incredible food, drink, culture and people of our spectacular regions (and cities!). |
![]() Join food & travel writer Jane Lawson on her 9-day ultra-luxe ‘Tastemakers’ road-trip featuring southern NSW’s best cuisine & culture. |
In essence, we’ll be exploring our homeland with the same macro lens we apply when travelling through Japan – to focus on the finer details we too easily miss in the day to day. To literally stop and appreciate the flowers and surroundings, to note the seasons, to meet the creators behind all things beautiful, real and comforting on and around our tables and of course to taste their wares. |
Holding tight to the Japanese thread we’ll spend a little time along the way in the company of characters passionate about Japanese lifestyle aspects and concepts – from arts and aesthetic to flavours and hospitality – each of them with their own gorgeous story to share. Some have travelled with Zenbu Tours and cultivated their own Japanese pathways and others are simply those deeply enamoured with Japan and with whom I’ve become connected with along the way in accordance with the Japanese concept of ‘Goen’. Fate if you like, a natural meeting of like-minded souls. We like to think our tours work that way too. We’ll release more details very soon but just as a teaser… |

FIRST CAB OFF THE RANK will be a 9-day ultra-luxe ‘Tastemakers’ road trip for 8 people 19-27 April 2022. Join me perusing the highlights of NSW’s beautiful South Coast, Southern Highlands & Tablelands, the Hilltops region and Murrumbateman wine country by plush Mercedes minibus, staying at THE MOST GORGEOUS accommodations (one not open until early 2022 so I can’t even whisper its name yet!) and the most incredible food, wine, hospitality and exclusive, ‘true local’ private experiences you’ll find anywhere in the region. Topped and tailed with fabulous Sydney food and views from one utterly glamorous hotel. I am seriously BURSTING with excitement! Please let me know if you’d like to be the first to hear the finer details. **As space is so limited, we expect this to book rather quickly – so if this trip sounds like you and 7 friends (or a few of your favourite couples) do chat with them as soon as you can. But for now, please try to slow down and enjoy the next few weeks, knowing we’ve made it through another really curly year. We all deserve a pat on the back, a glass (ok a bottle) of something lovely, great food and quality time with loved ones. An early mark? After days of rain in Sydney, the sun is finally shining on the bamboo and maple outside my window and I’m inhaling happy summer scents of Gardenia and distant BBQ. I’m taking it as a sign. Wishing you and yours a joyful, loving, safe and reflective holiday season. Jane x |
